Recently, the mosque was awarded the “Community Care Award” by the Sultan of Selangor himself. And after 8 long years of waiting, the mosque finally decided to replace its old carpet in the main prayer hall, which had become worn out, brittle, and dusty.
The whole installation process story
To our surprise, Masjid Ara Damansara wanted a fully customized mosque carpet for their main prayer area—designed according to their own criteria and aesthetic. As a trusted mosque carpet supplier in Malaysia, Al Aqsa Carpets was enthusiastic to help realize their vision by providing top-tier carpet installation service. The representative of Masjid Ara Damansara chose the customization for mosque carpet thickness, colors, its motifs (pattern) & rows (saf), as well as its special feature – a dome design; for the imam section and for the centre of the carpet.
The first step was to present design ideas, available color choices, and carpet thickness options. The second step involved creating a graphic mockup of the carpet design based on the requested specifications and sharing it with the mosque representatives. Alhamdulillah, they were pleased and approved the visual concept. Once the custom carpet arrived, Al Aqsa Carpets immediately began the first installation phase—removing the old carpet and underlay. This took a full day due to the dusty condition, melted underlay stuck to the floor, and the discovery of an additional layer of old carpet underneath.
The mosque also requested that the installation be completed before Ramadan, to avoid disrupting the congregation’s Tarawih prayers and other ibadah during the holy month. On the following day, Al Aqsa Carpets deployed a full team of expert installers to speed up and streamline the process. However, the installation faced its challenges. Each carpet roll weighed an estimated 400–500kg, and there were over 10 rolls that needed to be carried into the mosque. Even spreading and laying the carpet required precision due to the carpet’s weight, which made handling difficult.

As a final touch, the mosque also requested a **dome motif** at the center of the prayer hall and in the imam’s prayer area. But none of this was a problem for Al Aqsa Carpets. With over 20 years of installation experience, state-of-the-art equipment, and a large team of skilled workers, the entire installation was completed smoothly, efficiently, and neatly.
